The demand for mental health services has escalated, highlighting the critical need for effective and accessible mental health care. Independent healthcare providers play a vital role in supporting the NHS by offering specialised mental health services. This award celebrates healthcare providers who have made outstanding contributions to mental health care, improving access, patient outcomes, and service efficiency. 

Projects can range from innovative therapy approaches to integrated care models, conducted independently or in collaboration with NHS organisations. All projects must serve NHS patients and demonstrate significant impact within the past two years.  

Eligibility

  • This award is open to any independent healthcare provider delivering mental health services free at the point of care to NHS patients
  • Projects can be conducted independently or in collaboration with an NHS organisation. While a partnership with the NHS is encouraged, it is not mandatory. However, all projects must serve NHS patients and provide evidence from the past two years up until the awards deadline date 

Ambition

  • Describe the specific challenges and context your project addresses within the mental health care setting, particularly the increased demand and need for accessibility 
  • Outline the goals and targets set for the initiative, detailing both quantitative and qualitative aspects 
  • Highlight how the project aims to implement innovative approaches to improve access, patient outcomes, and overall service efficiency in mental health care 

Outcome

  • Provide evidence of the benefits realised for patients, including improvements in access to care, patient outcomes, and satisfaction 
  • Present measurable results that demonstrate the project's success in improving mental health services and operational effectiveness 

Spread

  • Explain how the success of your initiative has been effectively communicated within the healthcare sector and beyond 
  • Share examples of how your project's innovative methods and successful outcomes have been/ could be replicated or adopted by other organisations 

Involvement

  • Describe the engagement process with stakeholders, including healthcare staff and patients, from the project's planning to implementation stages 
  • Highlight the significant contributions and active participation of different stakeholders, emphasising how their buy-in was achieved 

Value

  • Detail how the project has created substantial value from the perspective of patient satisfaction and experience 
  • Discuss the impact on streamlining mental health care delivery and saving time for healthcare staff at all levels 
  • Provide demonstrative evidence of the broader value added to the healthcare system, such as improved care delivery, operational efficiency, and enhanced patient-provider relationships
