Workforce remains the NHS's biggest challenge. Persistent vacancies, rising demand and tight finances mean trusts and systems must staff services safely while getting better value from every pound spent on their people. The Medium Term Planning Framework sets clear expectations on workforce cost and productivity, and services need resourcing models that deliver the right staff, with the right skills, in the right place at the right time.

Workforce solution providers play a vital role in meeting this challenge. This includes recruitment at home and internationally, managed and collaborative staff banks, e-rostering and deployment technology, retention and wellbeing programmes, and new roles and skill mix models that release clinical time.

This award will recognise a partnership between a workforce solution provider and one or more NHS organisations that has improved how the NHS attracts, deploys or retains its people. Judges will be looking for measurable improvements in fill rates, safe staffing, retention or value for money, delivered in genuine partnership with NHS teams and with clear benefit for patients and staff.
