One of the growth areas of the last decade in healthcare across the world has been the use of healthcare analytics for increasingly sophisticated uses. Every healthcare provider collects a wealth of data about each patient – not just their personal characteristics but about their treatment, their journey through the organisation, and their outcome and possible readmissions. Examining trends in this – and comparing one organisation with a cohort of similar ones - can identify correlations end enable improvements to be made. These may reduce costs for the organisation and offer benefits for the patient as well. This analysis can be extended to cover the use of staff and other ‘inputs’ and reduce variations.
NHS organisations may not have the capacity to do some of this themselves and often turn to specialist companies who can offer these services, often bespoke to their needs. Entrants in this category will need to demonstrate they have made provided a high-quality service to NHS clients, which will often involve tailor-making a solution through understanding their needs, which has then provided useful information to allow the organisation to pursue improvements.
- Judges are looking for analytics providers with a proven track record of delivering high quality results
- Only single projects are eligible. Evidence must relate to a project, ongoing or completed within the past 2 years up until the award entry deadline
